Hikaru's Mentor, Roy Focker was the leader of the Skull Team during the testing of the VF-X project that gave birth of the Valkyrie Fighters. After the completion of the project, he was affected to the defence of the SDF-1, and there leaded the Skull Squadron onboard his VF-1S 'Skull One' for the first Galactic War of Macross.
The VF-1S is an advanced version of the VF-1 with four RÖV-20 laser guns and improved engines. During battle, it can also be equipped with the Strike parts to improve its fire power: two NP-AR-01 missiles launcher pods on the lower arms section and two HMMP-02 pods can be used as micro-missiles launcher or as high-powered double-action beam cannon.
The VF-1S is in 1/60 scale and includes the Super Parts.
